New Year Fundraiser in Children’s Centre Mechta

New Year’s celebration is always special. This is our favorite family holiday. Christmas tree, decorations, presents, guests and magic just like in your childhood.

And this year the Children’s Centre Mechta has a wonderful present for kids and adults. It will hold a New Year Fundraiser “Russian New Year” at the Marché Bonsecours. This is the fourth time we take part in the winter festival «Les Féeries du Vieux-Montréal» with our magical show.
The New Year show Ded Moroz (Santa Claus) and his granddaughter Snegurochka is put on by the Centre’s students in traditional Russsian style. The show introduces our traditions and Russian culture to multicultural Quebec.

Russian culture, traditions, language are of great interest to Quebecers. That’s why many local residents come to our annual New Year shows. These are unforgettable events enjoyed by children and adults. Fascinated kids are transported to a mystic world of fairy tales with stunning costumes, decorations and beautiful music all created by young actors.

But this year it’s a special event. It’s a Fundraiser for residents and guests of Montreal. It’s a gift to remember given to us by the center’s students on the eve of this wonderful holiday.

This year the organizers of the Fundraiser have a surprise for us. They will present a wonderful folk group from Drummondville “Mackinaw”. And you will see for yourselves how well this colorful group fits into our show.
